How our phantom works

What makes this phantom unique is its ability to replicate dental x-ray exposure to the human jaw, jawbone, and teeth. It is the only technology that permits analysis about actual human jaw and teeth. It is simple, reproducible, consistent and it is easier than taking patient intraoral images (shown in the picture on the lower right circle). It takes less than 10 minutes to set up (as illustrated in the left circle), expose, review, and then digitally save the resulting images (as in the upper circle). The phantom is durable and constructed as an integrated device with the user being able to quickly adjust to film, full digital or slim digital detector design. The easy to follow "User Manual” guides the user with step by step instructions and illustrations. The design results in fast, accurate, and consistent application.

Dentist Using X-Ray

X-Ray Best Practices Achieve the clearest image with minimum radiation.

  • It is cost effective compared to the other phantoms. It takes 10 minutes to test a unit.
  • Offers consistent image quality at the appropriate radiation dose for all patients. Also offers the level of care their patients deserve.
  • Sets standards and goals that are in line with what other countries are doing, including Diagnostic Reference Levels in UN (IAEA), U.S.A. (NCRP), and in Europe.
  • Over time an X-Ray machine deteriorates. The Phantom allows for ongoing calibration.

IQ(D)P; An Approach that offers optimal Patient Protocols

  • Radiation is cumulative over a patient's lifetime with proven consequences over time.
  • Protocols have yet to be developed for dental x-ray. That is the reason for the development of this new dental x-ray Phantom.
  • First steps are establishing, measuring, and periodically checking image quality and the radiation dose required to obtain it. One without the other does not achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Training of users and clinicians so that protocols are understood and complied with.
Dental Equipment Partnership

IQ(D)P Industry Production/Sale Partnership will help with new requirements.

  • Production license for industries producing other phantoms.
  • Include IQ(D)P in your product line in medical imaging. This Phantom will increase prestige and sales of the company by adding value for dentists.
  • Use IQ(D)P in your marketing, and supply it to all service technicians. Distribute Phantom with x-ray equipment deliveries, as required by IAEA.
  • Licensing and/or royalty options available to x-ray industry standard practices. IQ(D)P will provide the answers to the dental license.

X-Ray Machine Training Training

With minimal training, dental x-ray operators introduce IQ(D)P and perform it without productivity loss. The gain is providing dentists with early notification of malfunction of the x-ray system, before it is noted on clinical images.
